How we work
Through involvement
ContinYou believes that it is important to ask people what they want to achieve. We aim to move beyond consultation to community engagement and involvement. We encourage an equality in learning relationships that encourages empowerment. This is the foundation of our approach.
Through communities
People learn best when they are in places where they feel comfortable. This may be a school or a college, or equally it may be a club, a workplace, a housing estate or a community centre. ContinYou projects aim to locate learning in environments that are local, informal and safe.
Through partnership
Much of our work is delivered in partnership with other organisations and with local practitioners, particularly those working in health, family learning, adult literacy and economic and community regeneration.
Through advocacy and influence
ContinYou works with Ministers, MPs, senior civil servants, and a wide range of policy-makers and practitioners, to influence thinking and encourage a commitment to explore new ways of making learning opportunities more accessible.
Through consultation and evaluation
By consulting people about their learning needs and evaluating the impact of our work, we are able to suggest positive ways forward.
Through dissemination
When our pilot programmes demonstrate what works, we share this information through publications and reports, through training courses and training materials, and through the website. We aim to calebrate people's successes and achievements and disseminate good practice.
