Partnerships and Influencing - Simulation

This session will be devoted to the 'Sawcastle Simulation', a well tested and enjoyable simulation where participants take on the roles of members of a local partnership board (in the imaginary City of Sawcastle) to decide how to respond to a possible government grant bidding proposal.
The whole event will be facilitated by Ian Bottrill from ContinYou, who commissioned the simulation initially and has led it many times.

Changing role of the Councillor

Details
This interactive session will look at the changing role of the councillor, both internally (within groups and the council) and externally (the community and partnerships etc), with a focus on how councillors can, even if not on the Executive, best exert influence to get the best deal possible for the communities they represent. The session will build on the experience of councillors and aim to develop their skills and confidence in this challenging, and vitally important work.
