March activities

1 March - St David’s Day

• St David is the patron saint of Wales. Can your members find out who St David was?
• Why not celebrate St David’s Day with Welsh food, such as laverbread, Welsh rarebit, or Welsh cheeses.
• Many Welsh people celebrate St David’s day by wearing a daffodil. Your members can make daffodils from card and paper. To find out how visit the Visit Wales website: www.visitwales.co.uk/upload/pdf/daffodil.pdf

14 March – Mother’s Day

• To celebrate Mother’s day, why not ask your members to invite their mums to breakfast club.
• What are your member’s mums’ favourite breakfast foods? Do they like different breakfast items to your members?
• Make Mother’s Day cards and presents in your art and craft sessions.

22 March – World Water Day

• Why not ask your members why is water so important and why do people around the world not have access to clean drinking water?
• How much water do your members drink each day? How much should they drink?
• Where does our water come from? Why not teach your members about the water cycle on World Water Day.
