Hoop Hop
ContinYou has partnered with KidTribe, a US based organisation to develop and deliver Hoop Hop - a dynamic physical activity programme that combines hoola hooping and hip hop music. It’s therefore an ideal intervention tool to tackle obesity and many of the health inequalities as it also offers opportunities for young people and adults to develop their self esteem and confidence. Its founder Kellee McQuinn is nicknamed 'the Pied Piper with a Boom Box' by the LA Times and has been featured on PBS, Discovery Kids, TLC, ABC News in the US and by the BBC, Channel 4 and STV in the UK.
Founded in 2002 KidTribe has become an international obesity prevention, fitness and nutrition program for children and young people, evoking a new school of physical education with trend-setting activities, sweat-inducing curricular and cutting-edge approach. Designed to allow for individual, group and mass participation (regularly delivered to groups of 1,500 at a time!), it has been successfully delivered to over 950,000 children, young people and adults throughout the US and the UK.
