We are delighted to announce that ContinYou’s Annual Conference for 2009 will take place on 23 and 24 March 2009 at the Holiday Inn, Stratford upon Avon.
ContinYou sees learning as a vital means through which people experiencing disadvantage can transform their lives. This major two-day conference will focus on recent research and best practice in tackling the inequality gap.
This major two-day conference will explore how schools, local authorities and partner organisations can focus on narrowing the widening inequality gap in education, health and communities. It will look at how we can all learn from those who are offering targeted support and finding solutions for people living in areas that experience the greatest disadvantage.
Highlights from last year’s conference included:
- presentation of the Schools ETC, Share, and Breakfast Club Plus awards
- an entertaining pre-dinner speech by Ian Gilbert, Independent Thinking, on Day One of the conference
- children from Radiowaves interviewing delegates during the event
- performances by Ex Cathedra's Singing Playgrounds project and by the Voyager School
- a leadership symposium, organised by the National College for School Leadership
- challenging mini keynote speeches, seminars and showcases, and thought-provoking key speeches.
Here are some comments from last year’s delegates:
