Working in Partnership to Support Families
Materials
The DfES (now DCSF) has funded ContinYou for three years to produce materials to assist those working in family support to work more effectively in partnership. The pack of flexible and user-friendly materials, entitled Working in partnership to support families, is designed to help paid and voluntary workers in their day-to-day roles. The materials are divided into three sections:
- Working in partnership: looks at practical skills involved in working in partnership and provides an overview of partnership work and why it happens.
- Supporting partnership work: looks at the skills involved in supporting partnership activities.
- Understanding strategic development of partnerships: looks at how to assess the performance of a partnership.
The materials include tips, activities and worksheets, and can be used in sessions with parents, one-to-one meetings with managers, staff training events, and so on. A set of guidelines for facilitators and managers is also available, which outlines in detail how participants can gain Open College Network (OCN) accreditation for work they complete.
The materials are also referenced to support the development of the new occupational standards for work with parents, where these relate to partnership working.
