Free legal advice for NRC/NCVO members
NCVO has teamed up with LawWorks to provide members with an exclusive package of benefits, including the provision of legal information services.
These new benefits could potentially save you thousands of pounds
The package contains two main elements:
- Free Legal support
- Initial electronic advice (quick query surgery) enabling you to submit by email a quick, straightforward query about the law that applies to specific situations. Areas covered by this service include employment, law, Data Protection, Company or Intellectual Property .

Membership is free of charge (For NCVO, free membership is only available to supplementary schools with a turnover of less than £100.000 per annum. For organisations with an annual income of over £50.000, membership is offered free for the first year only).

As a member of the NRC, and by signing the Code of Practice for Supplementary Schools, you make a commitment to providing good teaching, effective planning, a safe environment and sound management. You can then work towards Quality Framework Awards at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, and become eligible for National Excellence Awards.
At this stage, membership is open to supplementary schools based in England only.
How do I apply?
Please complete the membership application form. There are three formats:
If you choose the Word or PDF version, please post or fax it to us. If you choose the online form, it will be automatically emailed to us.
Whichever format you choose, don't forget to complete the code of practice form too (at the end of the membership form) as this is an essential part of your membership application.
The NRC is not a regulatory body. This membership is based on trust. If we discover that you are not a supplementary school or if you provide fraudulent information you will immediately be removed as a member.
