Neighbourhood Renewal Fund

The Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF) is a government programme designed to narrow the gap between the 88 most deprived neighbourhoods of England and the rest of the country. Funds are available to improve local public services, including education.

NRF moneys can be used to support local supplementary schools in closing the achievement gap.

Case study

In Coventry, the NRF has been supporting supplementary schools for a number of years. In 2006-2007, the NRF funded a two-year project aimed at building the capacity of supplementary schools and helped to create a supplementary schools forum.
