The National Year of Reading was launched in October 2007 by the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families. It will be an exciting opportunity to raise the profile of reading and inspire more people to talk about and take part in reading for pleasure and purpose. A Consortium of partners is working with the NYR team and ContinYou is one of these. To hear more about the year and to start getting involved, please register for updates on the website at:

Now available, Swift and easy access and parenting support toolkit.
This toolkit offers guidance, support and resources for professionals involved in the delivery of the core offer in extended schools and children’s centres. The Toolkit introduces the core offer and has whole sections dedicated to swift and easy access and parenting support. The toolkit is available to download from the ContinYou website:

Third Sector Extended Services Networking Event
Our next event is on 14th December and the theme is "Effective Working Practices At the National and Local Level - Meeting Children And Young People's Needs. There will be discussions on Volunteering and the ECM Agenda, developing a Children & Young People's Forum and the opportunity to hear about good practice from Place2be, a voluntary organisation. Section four: funding
From January 2008, Vodafone will be donating £500,000 through its retail stores over a three year period. The money will be used by each store to promote fundraising and charitable giving at a local level with the overall aim of 'unlocking the potential of young people'. To find out more visit:
