The London 12 – Local Network Fund
The NRC worked with a range of partners to deliver projects that made a real difference to communities, families children and young people on the ground.
The latest project which that kicked-off is ‘The London 12’ which supported supplementary schools applying to the Local Network Fund (LNF) available in the following 12 London boroughs:
- Camden
- Enfield
- Hackney
- Hammersmith & Fulham
- Haringey
- Islington
- Kensington & Chelsea
- Merton
- Sutton
- Tower Hamlets
- Wandsworth
- Westminster
The Peabody Trust (PT) has been administering the LNF in 12 London boroughs on behalf of the DfES (now DCSF) since 2002. Although the LNF finished in March 2008, the NRC and the PT are very keen to support schools or groups in becoming sustainable post 2008.
To support schools during their application writing process, the NRC arranged a several cross borough seminars on LNF, how to write a successful application form as well as information about the NRCs new accredited training in ‘Effective Management in Supplementary Schools’ aimed at school managers and to learn about the NRCs Quality Framework Award.
