Background

Share is a fun programme that encourages parents/carers, children, teachers, managers, facilitators and anybody else involved to all work together with the aim of improving partnerships, numeracy and literacy, self-esteem, confidence and social interaction within the community.

Share can only be delivered by a trained Share facilitator.

Evaluations

Share was originally piloted in 1996, and was funded by the DfES (now DCSF) and a private funder. The DCSF continued to support the development of Share until 2003. A requirement of the funding was to have Share externally evaluated and have a report produced. Four evaluations have been produced:

  • An evaluation of Share at the Foundation Stage
  • Share - an evaluation of the first two years
  • Share at Key Stage 2
  • An evaluation of Share at Key Stage 3

View short summaries of these evaluations or order full copies of the reports.

Reviews

An annual review form was sent to all Share settings in order to gather feedback from those people who were directly involved. This information has resulted in programme developments and improvements, and the publication of new resources.

Other ad hoc reviews are occasionally carried out.
