Championing children, families and communities - conference report
ContinYou's annual conference 2008

Over 300 delegates were warmly welcomed at ContinYou's annual conference, held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel (Birmingham NEC) on 18 and 19 March.
The conference, entitled 'Championing children, families and communities', aimed to share innovative examples from across the UK of people, projects and organisations that are putting children, families and communities at the heart of their work.

Conference highlights
Highlights of the two days were:
- a presentation of the Schools ETC, Share, and Breakfast Club Plus awards
- an entertaining pre-dinner speech by Ian Gilbert on day one of the conference
- children from Radiowaves intervewing delegates during the event
- performances by Ex Cathedra's Singing Playgrounds project and by the Voyager School (Word, 154KB)
- a leadership symposium, organised by the National College for School Leadership
- challenging mini keynotes, seminars and showcases and thought-provoking key speeches.
