Share practitioner training

Share practitioner training is for those at schools/settings who are keen to develop family learning within their organisation. Our current Share practitioners include teachers, classroom assistants, social workers, childminders, community development workers and many more. Read interviews with our Share facilitators.

Share training pack

Share training consists of two and half days of training. Each participant gets a Share Training pack of the following materials:

  • one parent pack for the specific key stage they would be working with
  • Share practitioner certificate
  • Practitioner handbook
  • Accreditation guide and Share units, including a new Tutor Unit, which gives accreditation to the people who deliver Share, and new 'Healthy Share' units
  • Discovery topic book
  • How do we know it's working - self evaluation booklet
  • Parents diary
  • Share badger.

Attending the training

The venue will be negotiated within your region, for between eight and 25 people. We suggest that two people from each setting attend the training, as this will provide back-up within your organisation if one of the facilitators is away from work.

At the end of the two days of training, a half day follow-up is arranged for participants to attend. Participants will decide which key stage they are to work with and parent packs will be ordered for their first group. It is anticipated that participants will run a Share group before the Day 3 follow-up so that any issues can be discussed and feedback given.

Share approved trainers

When you find family learning and Share is a success within your region, you may be interested in attending the Share Approved Trainers course. This is a two-day 'training-the-trainer' course which will enable you to provide the Share practitioner training within your own region.  For futher details, visit the approved trainer pages.
