Involving members
OwnZone should belong to its members.
A successful OwnZone club will involve pupils in designing and running their OwnZone. It will also be based on information gathered from students, families, other school staff, the community and key partners.
Read more about auditing need and identifying existing provision in your school and local area.
By actively encouraging members to be involved in deciding and organising what goes on in each of the Zones, they will develop ownership of their club. In turn this will encourage them to come more regularly. Being involved in this way will also help members to develop valuable skills and experience that they can use in other areas of their lives.
Chapter 4 (page 14) of the resource pack provides further information and ideas on how to actively involve members in designing and running their OwnZone.
