Resources and online reference

Resources

We have produced a range of fantastic resources that will help:

  • schools set up innovative study support activities and projects and keep them going
  • local authority officers strategically plan their study support work, make effective links with a range of policies within the authority and sustain this agenda into the future.

Guides for schools include maths, reading, breakfast, cookery and Ownzone clubs (a suggested model for building on your existing study support provision to provide a full range of extended services).

Resources for local authorities include strategy guides to link study support to a range of related policy agendas such as gifted and talented, library services and healthy schools, articles for use in your own publications, How to Train guides, and a training directory.

Mini Guides

We have also produced some excellent Mini Guides - a series of downloadable bite-sized guides designed to provide support, guidance, ideas and resources to schools and local authorities to help them run a range of successful subject-based study support/oshl clubs. Many of the ideas contained within the mini guides can also be used during formal curriculum time.

Case studies

We have collected more than 180 case studies from a range of schools who are running successful study support activities, clubs or projects as part of their whole school developments. Search or browse the case studies database or provide us with your own case study by completing an online or downloadable form. Visit the case studies database...

Online reference

We have collated key evidence, policy and guidance and other literature about study support, and made it available via our online reference database. It is free and easy to use, and contains documents and publications from across the government and from many different organisations. Visit the online reference...
