Volunteering for Active Communities (V4AC)
Introduction
Volunteering for active communities (V4AC) is an accredited training programme currently being piloted over 4-years (April 2007 – March 2011), funded by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) and managed by ContinYou Cymru, for those volunteering or working on informal learning activities, projects or programmes in school, community, youth or play settings.
About the project
V4AC aims to support and award those involved in planning, implementing and developing informal learning opportunities for children, young people and communities through providing practical training, step-by-step support, comprehensive training resources, opportunities to share and learn from other others, and the opportunity to gain Open College Network (OCN) accreditation, all completely free of charge.
Training is currently available at OCN Level 1 and OCN Level 2:
• OCN Level 1 in Volunteering Skills
• OCN Level 2 in Identifying and Meeting Informal Learning needs

All candidates must be aged 16 or over.
The Level 1 award can also be used to accredit volunteering retrospectively.
