Hilden Charitable Trust
Funding available: up to £5,000
Application deadline: 19 June
The aim of the Hilden Charitable Trust is to address disadvantages, notably by supporting causes which are less likely to raise funds from public subscriptions.

Children in Need

The BIG Family Idea
Funding available: BIG will provide £150,000 of Big Lottery Fund to an organisation who can develop the winning idea.

The Big Lottery Fund in partnership with National Family Week is inviting people of all ages in the UK to enter the BIG Family Idea competition, with an idea that could improve family life, either in their street or revolutionises life for families throughout the UK.

Talk Talk - Innovation in the community award
Funding available:30 winners receive cash grants of £2,000 to fund technology related projects and technology equipment, to help them make the most of the Internet.

The Secret Millionaire
Funding available: £300 to £10,000

The Big Lottery Fund and The Secret Millionaire have teamed up to give viewers of The Secret Millionaire programme a chance to act on the charitable inspiration fuelled by the show.

Community Cash Awards
Grants available: Up to £1,000 is available for 14-16 year olds; up to £5,000 is available for those aged 16-25
Community Cash Awards are grants of up to £5,000 to help young people set up a project that will benefit their community.

Tudor Trust
Funding available: There is no maximum or minimum grant amount.

The Tudor Trust supports people and organisations working to achieve lasting change in their communities.

UnLtd
Funding available:
£500 to £5,000
The aim of the Awards is to support individuals or informal groups of people who have an idea which will change society for the better, and want help getting it off the ground.

Drinkaware
Funding available: £250 to £100,000
Application deadline: No appliocation deadline, however you should apply for the grant at least two months before the start of your project.
The Drinkaware grants scheme aims to change the UK’s drinking culture for the better. They work to positively influence public behaviour and find innovative ways to raise awareness about the effects of alcohol, to help reduce alcohol misuse and minimise alcohol-related harm.

Heritage Lottery Fund - Young Roots
Funding available: £3,000 to £25,000
Application deadline: Young Roots is a rolling programme with no deadlines for applications
The Young Roots Programme aims to involve 13 to 25 year-olds in finding out about their heritage, developing skills, building confidence and promoting community involvement.

Britannia Building Society Foundation
Funding available: £1,000 to £25,000
Application deadline: Applications to the Community Fund can be submitted at any time.
Grants for registered charities and schools, working within education, who are seeking funding specifically for numeracy and/or financial literacy projects.

Britannia Building Society Foundation – Community Fund
Funding available: Up to £1,000
Application deadline: Applications to the Community Fund can be submitted at any time.
Grants for voluntary groups, charities and schools who are seeking funding specifically for numeracy and/or financial literacy projects. The Fund also supports individual members wishing to achieve personal development goals that support the fund’s key priorities with a donation of up to £100.

02 - It’s Your Community Initiative
Grants available:
£100 to £1,000
Application deadline: Applications can be made at any time
Awards of up to £1,000 are available to local groups and individuals, for anything that you can show will benefit your community.

Wakeham Trust
Funding available:
£75 to £750
Application deadline: Applications can be made at any time.
The Wakeham Trust provide grants to help people rebuild their communities. They are particularly interested in neighbourhood projects, community arts projects, projects involving community service by young people, or projects set up by those who are socially excluded.
They also support innovative projects to promote excellence in teaching.

HBOS Foundation: Community Action Programme
Funding available: Up to £10,000
Application deadline: Applications can be made at any time.
HBOS Foundation donations must fit within the two key themes of money advice and financial literacy or developing and improving local communities. You must be a registered charity, or a not for profit local community group.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation: Education and Learning Open Grants Scheme

Application deadline: Applications can be made at any time
Grants available: There is no minimum or maximum grant size.
The Education and Learning Open Grants Scheme is currently accepting applications for innovation and change concerned with supplementary schooling and tackling school exclusion and truancy

Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales
Every year the Lloyds TSB Foundation funds thousands of charities working to tackle disadvantage across England and Wales. Their focus is on supporting small and medium under-funded charities that can make a significant difference to the lives of disadvantaged people by helping them to play a fuller role in the communities of their choice.

The Links Foundation
Funding available: Average spend per project is currently about £20,000.
Application deadline: The Board meets every four months. The closing date for applications is four weeks before the Board meeting.
The Links Foundation was launched in 2003 as a charitable trust to distribute funds to communities that needed help.

Heinz Charitable Trust
Heinz Charitable Trust promotes community health and well-being and offers funding to registered charities in the UK.

Healthy Heart Grants
Funding available: Up to £10,000
Application deadline: Applications are only accepted during January and February for the May round of grants and July and August for grants awarded in November, each year.
Grants are available to community groups, voluntary organisations and researchers who are spreading the healthy heart message.

Trusthouse Charitable Foundation
Funding available: Up to £10,000 (small grants programme), £10,000 to £30,000 (large grants programme)
Application deadline: The Grants Committee meets quarterly to consider applications at the beginning of February, May, July and November. Applications must be received at least eight weeks prior to a meeting.
The Foundation provides grants for projects within the following three areas: health care and disability, community support, and education and the arts.

The Mohammad Ibrahim Foundation
Funding available: The grants range from £500 - £10,000. Extraordinary projects may receive grants up to £50,000.
Application deadline: Grants are awarded twice a year
The Mohammed Ibrahim Foundation makes grants to organisations which aim to improve the quality of life for people and communities in the UK, both now and in the future. They are particularly interested in supporting community building, strengthening non-profit organisations, and supporting families.

The Classical Association Grants
Funding available: £50,000
Application deadline: Decisions on grant applications are normally made by Council which meets at the start of April and in mid-November each year.
The Classical Association awards grants to classical projects, such as institutions offering extra-mural courses in Greek, Latin and classical civilisation; and support of regional Greek or Roman days or of school conferences.

Yapp Charitable Trust Grants - England and Wales only
Funding available: Up to £3,000 per year for up to three years
Application deadline: Applications are processed continuously.
The Yapp Charitable Trust makes small grants, for running costs and salaries, to small registered charities in England and Wales to help sustain their existing work.

The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust Grants Programme

The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust supports charitable organisations which aim to improve the quality of life for people and communities in the UK.

The Rayne Foundation
Funding available: The average grant in 2007 was £13,666.
The Rayne Foundation helps and encourages inspiring individuals and organisations who can help build bridges within society. They give grants within four sectors: Arts, Education, Health & Medicine, and Social Welfare & Development.

Steel Charitable Trust

Hilton Foundation
Funding available:
Up to £50,000

Focusing on children and young people, the Foundation supports activities in education and health to relieve suffering and equip individuals.

The Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation (England and Wales only)
Funding available: From less than £1,000 to £250,000

The Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation aims to improve the quality of life particularly of those in need. Funding can be for education, arts, religion, community, children and youth, health, social welfare, environment and amateur sport.

Youth Music (England and Wales only)
Funding available:
