Many local authorities produce guidance and resources to support the teaching of newly arrived communities.

The Kensington and Chelsea Language Development Servicehas produced a wide range of resources for newly-arrived learners, including a DVD introducing the English school system. the DVD is in  Arabic, English, Farsi and Somali, with a silent track for colleagues to provide commentaries in other languages as required, and a course for young people aged 14 to 16. (Supplementary school leaders were members of an advisory group supporting the Service.)
