ContinYou - Changing lives through learning
ContinYou is one of the UK's leading education charities. We believe that every child and young person must have an education that enables them to develop to their full potential.

Consult, monitor and evaluate

Code of Practice Statement: Ask pupils, parents and carers, teachers and volunteers to help the school judge how well it is doing, and plan how to improve its service.

GOLD STANDARD: The supplementary school has an annual cycle of ongoing monitoring, evaluation and planning, involving everyone.

You may wish to include:

  • recent student/staff/parent meetings (showing involvement in developing policies and procedures)
  • set of three or four staff/management minutes (need to show consultation that has taken place, the monitoring of services, reports on feedback and next years plan)
  • lesson plans x 3 (teachers comments on how the lesson went, future changes/adaptations)
  • reports (reports on consultation meetings with parents and pupils, reports from staff and volunteers, reports from the co-ordinator on how many children are attending, what they are learning, achievements and progress)
  • one or two annual reports, newsletters or school magazine (plans for the future, based on what parents and pupils want)
  • teacher observations.
